Good Cable

Bought this cable to connect my PC to my TV (46" Plasma) - was previously using a SVGA cable.
The cable works well, picture quality is excellent. Watching DVD's or other material on the TV from the PC is just as good as watching from a DVD player. |
great product

| Have used this cable for a few months now and I must say I am very pleased, picture quality, as you would expect from digital is superb. I use it for my PC to LCD TV and have had no problem just plugged it in and excellent picture at 1920 x 1080. At that price you can't go wrong. Don't be fooled by cables costing more this one does the job and does it well. |
Also works other way round!

Although this was advertised for connecting a DVI source to an HDMI screen, I noticed that other cables said they worked either way round, and as this was cheap I took a chance, and...
...I'm happy to say it works for connecting an HDMI source (my PS3) to a DVI screen (an old Philips plasma). One thing to watch out for is that if your screen predates HDMI it probably won't be compatible with copyright-protected high-def content (I've found that games and downloaded movies will play in HD, but I can't upscale DVDs to HD as the PS3 won't output these over a non-HDCP connection) the resulting blank screen confused me till I found out the reason - which is not the fault of the cable.
Other than this: it took a fair bit of force (enough for me to worry about bending the pins in the connectors) to get it plugged in at the DVI end - I would be taking a star off for this if I knew it was down to the plug on the cable but it could be the socket on my telly as I've never had a DVI lead plugged in to it before. As for picture quality, I've not much to compare against - it looks great, but it's replacing the composite lead that came in the box with the playstation, and anything would look great by comparison - what I can say is that even without upscaling, DVDs from my PS3 via HDMI/DVI look a lot better than the ones from my DVD player by RGB SCART (with the playstation connected by composite lead it was the other way round) and to get this much of a boost to picture quality delivered for under a fiver, I'm very happy.

| I am no expert so i can only judge this product on my limited knowledge. Firstly the cable was cheap, so cheap in fact that i was worried about ordering it. My friend advised a cable in the £30+ price bracket and told me not to waste my money. I took the gamble. I am using it to link my Abigs multimedia player to a Sony Bravia LCD TV. I had no problems connecting the lead, it fitted snug in the sockets. Here's the thing that surprised me though, the picture quality with a 1080p video sample was stunning, equally as good as the more expensive brands in my opinion. Don't hesitate buying this product, what you going to lose? |
